EVENT: International Crisis and Risk Communication Conference

The 2012 International Crisis & Risk Communication Conference: Cultivating Trust in Uncertain Times will bring together leaders, researchers, and experts from private industry, government and the academy to facilitate an international dialogue about how we can collectively understand, adapt and respond to the significant crisis communication challenges we face in the wake of growing skepticism, suspicion and erosion of public trust.

The event will be held at UCF from March 5 to the 7. You can find more details here.

It is clear that “trust” and “trustworthiness” lies at the heart of successful and ethical crisis and risk communication. This conference is for public and private sector communication practitioners as well as researchers, scholars and policy-makers who are interested in exploring the challenges for risk and crisis communication in the context of diminished credibility and trustworthiness in the mind of the public for public and private sector entities, agencies, businesses and corporations.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with leading experts. Participants can discuss lessons learned and emergent best practices from professionals who have dealt with significant crisis and risk communication episodes and participate in proposing practical recommendations for effective crisis communication in this changing environment.
