Global Perspectives meets Gorbachev
Last month, Global Perspectives Director John C. Bersia spent an afternoon with Mikhail Gorbachev, the former president of the Soviet Union. Gorbachev, who speaks all over the world on issues such as the United States and Russia in the 21st century, and global peace, was in Orlando to address a convention. 
“The chance to meet one of the most significant political players of the 20th century was irresistible,” Bersia said.
He also attended Gorbachev’s presentation on U.S.-Russia relations, from his time in office to the present, which Bersia described as “sweeping and fascinating.” A bonus, Bersia added, was Gorbachev’s willingness to autograph a copy of his landmark book, Perestroika: New Thinking for Our Country and the World.
