Political science professor visits universities in Japan

UCF Political Science Professor Dr. Nikola Mirilovic recently concluded doing presentations in Japan at the Hokkaido University and the Waseda University. The presentations were organized by the Slavic Research Center based at Hokkaido University, and Dr. Mirilovic was invited to present by Professor Kimitaka Matsuzato.

Dr. Mirilovic presented “A Preliminary Theory of Contested International Recognition of New States: the Case of Kosovo” at the 2012 Summer International Symposium: From Empire to Regional Power, between State and Non-state at the Slavic Research Center located within the Hokkaido University. You can view his presentation documents here.

Then Dr. Mirilovic presented “The Politics of Immigration: Dictatorship, Development, and Defense” at the Waseda University in Tokyo. You can view his presentation documents here.

“The organization was superb, and in addition to the conference the organizers took us on a tour of Otaru and of Tokyo,” Mirilovic said.
