UCF alumna to perform at the Hatch Presenting Series
Stephanie Koscielecki, ’10, graduated from the Nicholson School of Communication with a bachelor’s degree in advertising/public relations. Koscielecki performs with the Emotions Dance Company, and has been a part of the company for three years now. Recently, Emotions Dance Company has been invited to perform at the Hatch Presenting Series in New York City placing Orlando in the national cultural spotlight.
“The opportunity to spread the word about what we offer here in the sunshine state is incredible,” she said. “We’re not all mouse ears and whale tails. We have a lot to offer in the way of the arts, not just even in the realm of dance but truly, across the board. This performance gives us a chance to represent to the rest of the country what we know we already have.”
Emotions Dance Company is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization founded in August 2007 by Artistic Director and Choreographer, Larissa Humiston. EDC is a professional contemporary dance company that focuses on social and environmental awareness through the art of dance.
HATCH Presenting Series was created in the spring of 1997 in response to the need in the dance field for a cost-free space for emerging choreographers to investigate new work, present works-in-progress and engage in dialogue with the audience, free from financial pressure and the scrutiny of critical response.
