UCF psychology student wins scholarship
Tiara J. Leath, a 2012-2013 Psychology student, was recently awarded a scholarship to help further her education at UCF. She received a Lake Wales Noon Rotary Club scholarship for her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and community service.
Leath served as President of LWHS’s Interact Club (a Rotary student club) her senior year, received the 2011-12 Medical Academy Award and was nominated for student of the year.
Her community service activities included helping with Rotary’s annual BBQ during Pioneer Days, the Rotary golf tournament, downtown clean-up, 5K race, mud race, after-school tutoring, and the Boys/Girls Camp.
She graduated with a 4.2 grade point average, and also was a member of the Humanitarian Club, the chorus, the tennis team and the Calculus Club.
