University of Central Florida Named Top College for Political Science Majors

The University of Central Florida has been recognized for excellence in Political Science education.

AffordableCollegesOnline.org, a website aimed at helping students find affordable college options and providing information about financial aid and college rankings, recently identified the top 20 Political Science programs in the United States with the highest return on investment (ROI). 

The University of Central Florida came in at Number 11, immediately following Southern Methodist University in Texas. Stanford University ranked Number 1, along with Northwestern and George Washington University coming at 7 and 8. AC Online claims that students who graduate from their listed institutions, earn more over their lifetimes, on average, than Political Science graduates from other institutions, after subtracting tuition and fees. 

AC Online used the following criteria to pinpoint the nation’s top Political Science programs:

−    Total weighted cost (provided by IPEDS)
−    30-year Net ROI (provided by PayScale.com)
−    4-year degree-granting institution
−    Fully accredited institution
−    Must offer Political Science at the undergraduate level
−    Private, for-profit institutions excluded
