Welcoming the Future

On August 20, 2015, the department of Political Science hosted a reception welcoming eight new Ph. D. students in Security Studies.  The Security Studies doctoral program prepares students to be able to analyze and communicate security issues in relation to policy makers, the general public, the government and academia. In completion of this rigorous program, the students will be prepared to work in areas such as the military and other governmental organizations, as well as research and teaching in institutions of higher education.

The reception was held at the UCF Morgridge International Reading Center where faculty, staff, and current graduate students attended. Refreshments were provided by the department,  and in between bites and drinks the new Ph. D students were treated to an afternoon of networking and connecting with mentors and peers.

The department is happy to welcome this new cohort of Ph.D. students and wish them the best.
