Dr. Gaarde is currently a professor of Physics at Louisiana State University. She earned her Ph.D. from University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Her research is centered around probing and controlling the ultrafast laser-matter interactions in atomic, molecular, and condensed-phase systems, involving a wide range of ultrafast dynamics. She leads the LSU ultrafast AMO theory group studying the dynamics of the individual quantum system at the microscopic level.
