Dr. Berrah is currently a professor in the Department of Physics at University of Connect (USA). She earned her Ph.D. in Physics from University of Virginia. She is a Fellow of American Physical Society, and a member of French Association for the Advancement of Science and American Association of University Women. She is an expert in the field of atomic, molecular and optical physics, particularly in the x-ray regime. She was awarded in 2014 the Davisson-Germer Prize, American Physical Society, for her pioneering experiments on the interaction of atoms, molecules, negative ions and clusters with ionizing vacuum ultraviolet and soft x-ray photons. She was elected to Blaise-Pascal Chair d’ Excellence, Ultrafast science at Commissariat à l’énergie Atomique, CEA, Saclay, France, 2020.
