Biography

Dennis Larbi Mpere is an accomplished academic and teaching assistant currently pursuing his PhD in Security Studies at the University of Central Florida. With a robust educational background and extensive experience in both research and teaching, Dennis has established himself as a dedicated scholar in the field of political science and security studies. 

Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, Dennis embarked on his academic journey at the University of Ghana, Legon, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Geography and Resource Development. He continued his education at the same institution, obtaining a Master of Philosophy in Political Science with a specialization in Public Administration and Public Policy Analysis. His master’s thesis, “The Implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure in Ghana,” showcased his ability to conduct in-depth research and provide valuable insights into public policy issues. 

Dennis further advanced his academic credentials by earning a Master of Arts in Political Science from Ohio University, where he authored a thesis titled “Assessment of US Policy of Security Assistance to Africa: A Case of Ghana.” This work reflected his keen interest in international relations and security policy, particularly concerning the African continent. 

Throughout his academic career, Dennis has gained substantial teaching experience. He has served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Central Florida, Ohio University, and the University of Ghana, Legon. In these roles, he has been responsible for grading assignments and exams, assisting lecturers, and teaching undergraduate courses. His teaching portfolio includes subjects such as International Politics, Public Policy Analysis, Ghana’s Foreign Policy, and Political Institutions. 

Dennis’s professional experience extends beyond the classroom. He has worked as an advisor and operations support for WorldStrides Educational Travel & Experience and as an administrative assistant at PRESANK Enterprise Limited. His diverse roles have equipped him with valuable skills in administration, operations management, and academic support. 

His research contributions are notable, with involvement in numerous research projects and data collection efforts. Dennis has worked as a research assistant for the Ghana Statistical Service, the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and the University of Ghana. His research interests include state building, political architecture, and public perception of government performance. 

Dennis is also an active member of his community. He has served as the president of the Young Adult Fellowship at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Logos Congregation, and as a Bible studies teacher. His leadership and commitment to service have had a positive impact on his community.
