Biography
Fahad Mirza received his Bachelor of Arts in International & Global Studies with minors in Intelligence & National Security and Global Peace and Security from UCF in 2018. He received his Master of Arts in US Foreign Policy and National Security from American University’s School of International Service in 2020. His research focused on terrorism and political violence with his capstone project looking at foreign state propaganda and disinformation in the 2020 US elections.
He went on to work as a contractor with the Department of Homeland Security and the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to combat foreign influence operations and disinformation. After leaving CISA, Fahad worked as a contributor to the Human Rights Research Center and the Global Network on Extremism & Technology writing about disinformation, extremism and political violence.
Fahad is currently a Security Studies PhD student at UCF. His research focuses on disinformation, extremism, polarization, and political violence.
