Biography
Thomas Mathews is a PhD student in Security Studies in the School of Politics, Security, and International Affairs (SPSIA) at the University of Central Florida (UCF). His research focuses on addressing the attribution problem in cyberspace, specifically why a target state may choose to make known a clandestine cyber operation. By integrating insights from multiple disciplines, he aims to uncover the mechanisms driving attribution decisions to better inform policymakers.
Thomas holds an MS in Cybersecurity Policy & Risk Management from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) as well as a BA in Government & Politics and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD).
