Biography

Uchenna Okwara is a PhD candidate in Security Studies at the School of Politics, Security, and International Affairs at the University of Central Florida. His research examines the relationship between non-military humanitarian aid and war termination, as well as vulnerability to fraudulent activities and online safety.

Uchenna has an impressive academic background. During his undergraduate studies at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, he was recognized as the best graduating student in his department. He continued to excel in his master’s program at Ohio University, receiving multiple awards for academic excellence. Currently, he holds the prestigious Trustee Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Central Florida.Before starting his master’s and doctoral studies, Uchenna served as a lieutenant in the Nigerian Army, where he gained extensive leadership experience in both administrative and combat roles. He played a crucial role in counterinsurgency operations against Boko Haram insurgents and collaborated with various humanitarian organizations to facilitate aid delivery during this period.

In addition to his professional and academic pursuits, Uchenna is committed to volunteer work, contributing to various charity organizations both locally and internationally. During his leisure time, he enjoys playing the piano and acoustic guitar.
