Research Area(s)

Dr. Barry Rosen is interested in all things algae: freshwater algal blooms, including bloom dynamics and environmental triggers, isolation and culturing for toxin production, absorbance spectra for satellite image calibration, and quantification techniques; the genetics of cyanobacteria-contributing to the Tree of Life, and marl/sediment formation in the Everglades and anticipate response to elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide; carbon capture and biofuel production; and new species and novel compound discovery.
