UCF Professor is Real Life ‘Doc Hollywood’

UCF physics professor and associate chair, Joshua Colwell, Ph.D., is being touted as UCF’s ‘Doc Hollywood’.  Colwell’s daughter Aylia is an actress, producer and director.  K.C. Colwell, his brother, is an assistant director, and Josh Colwell is an actor.

He has appeared in Zapped (1982), Father of the Bride (1991) with Steve Martin, Must Love Dogs (2005), Lucky You (2007), and twice on the TV show The Walking Dead as a “walker” or zombie. He also consulted on the movie Deep Impact, keeping the movie true to science while also landing a speaking role in the movie.

Colwell will next appear in the independent movie Fishbowl produced by, and starring, his daughter. He has written several YouTube short subjects under the pen name, Jimmy T., Ph.D.  To see the short videos, click here and here.
