The Political Science Department congratulates Elias Assaf (left) and Briana Vargas-Gonzalez (right), who were selected as American Political Science Association Minority Fellows for the 2014-2015 academic year.  Elias and Briana are currently graduate students in the M.A. program in Political Science. The national award is highly competitive and carries with it a fellowship of $4,000 for their future studies in a Ph.D. program. Elias and Briana are two of twelve students selected nationwide for the fellowship with funding; additional unfunded fellowships are also awarded.

Briana will complete the M.A. program at UCF during the summer term of 2014 and resume studies in a doctoral program in the fall semester 2014. Elias is also planning to join a doctoral program in fall 2014 and concentrate on the field of political psychology.
