COS Celebrates Fall 2016 Grads
On Friday, December 16, 2016 the University of Central Florida’s College of Sciences celebrated more than 1,000 students graduating from the college.
The college hosted its traditional graduation reception immediately following the afternoon ceremony for its graduates to celebrate with their faculty, friends and family. The event, held in the UCF Psychology Building, hosted more than 100 graduates and their guests. Knightro attended the event to take photos with the new alumni, a regalia return station was open for graduates to return their gowns, and light refreshments were served.
Faculty from the college attended to congratulate and bid farewell to their former students. The UCF Alumni Association tabled at the event to inform its newest alumni on opportunities to stay connected to their alma mater. The event was open to fall 2016 undergraduate, masters and doctoral graduates and their guests.
The day prior, Thursday, December 15, the college also hosted its traditional Ph.D. pre-commencement celebration for the fall 2016 doctoral graduates. 7 Ph.D. students of the 14 graduating attended with their guests for the intimate celebration in the UCF Physical Sciences Building.
Michael Johnson, Ph.D., dean of the UCF College of Sciences, welcomed the graduates and their families, congratulating them on their hard work. Dean Johnson posed with each graduate as their dissertation’s abstract was read to the crowd.
Guests enjoyed light refreshments at the event and the UCF Alumni Association attended to connect with the doctoral graduates on staying involved with UCF.
