Christine Hanlon, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer in the UCF Nicholson School of Communication and Media, has been accepted for a three-year placement on the Fulbright Specialist roster. The Fulbright Specialist Program is a year-round program that matches Fulbright Specialists with international host institutions for short-term on-demand projects. The Fulbright Specialist Program was established by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs as a part of the larger Fulbright Program. While on the Fulbright Specialist roster, Dr. Hanlon will be eligible to be matched with international projects at host institutions that represent over 150 countries.

Dr. Hanlon is hoping to be matched with a project at an international host institution during the Spring 2024 semester so she will have the opportunity to complete two projects during her three-year tenure on the Fulbright Specialist roster. There is a two-year wait period between Fulbright Specialist projects.

When asked about her preferences for Fulbright Specialist projects, Dr. Hanlon indicated that she is open to a variety of projects, and she is looking forward to learning about cultures she has not previously experienced. Dr. Hanlon stated, “Overall, I am interested in serving an international host institution while broadening my experiences and learning more about other cultures. I am open to opportunities and am looking forward to being matched with a project.”
