UCF Alumnus Reflects Motto in ‘Shark Tank’
The theme of ABC’s “Shark Tank” reflects what executive producer Clay Newbill says he learned at the University of Central Florida.
“The motto is ‘reach for the stars,’ and they really did, I think, instill in the students that attitude,” said Newbill, who grew up in Ormond Beach and graduated from UCF in 1982. “The messaging behind ‘Shark Tank’ is we want to tell viewers, ‘If you have an idea, go after it. Chase your dreams.’”
The chase has gone swimmingly for “Shark Tank.” The series marks its 100th episode at 9 p.m. Friday, gathers all six “Sharks” for the first time to reminisce and yet doesn’t dawdle over the back-patting.
