Fernando Rivera, Ph.D., associate professor and associate chair in the Department of Sociology at the University of Central Florida, is working to internationalize the curriculum at the university.

This academic year Rivera is serving as Faculty Fellow assisting the International Affairs and Global Strategies (IAGS) at UCF on the internalization of the curriculum and other international initiatives. He is a part of a team that is partnering with the consulates of Mexico and Colombia in Orlando in the areas of education, health, and culture.

Included in the initiative was bringing faculty to UCF to share their knowledge and expertise during the XVI Binational Health Week from October 3 to 22. The events were held in different locations throughout Florida, including the consulates of Mexico and Colombia in Orlando.
