2016 30 Under 30

The 2016 30 Under 30 class gathered to be honored Saturday at FAIRWINDS Alumni Center during the Indoor Tailgate. They then were recognized on the field at Bright House Networks Stadium during the football game. This incredible group of individuals includes 12 alumni of the College of Sciences.

Amanda Booz, ’13, Nicholson School of Communication

Ms. Booz is an Associate Producer on various shows at BET Networks/ViaCom. A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, she is an active member of City Knights, a networking group of UCF alumni in New York City. She has interviewed performers like Emmy-award winner Regina King and Grammy award winners Ciara and Jill Scott. Majored in interpersonal/organization communications

Linh Anh Cat, ’14, Department of Biology 

Ms. Cat is currently a Ph.D. researcher at the University of California Irvine, where her work in epidemiology and public health has won her several fellowships. A member of the Burnett Honors College, she traveled to St. Kitts and Nevis with the UCF President’s Scholars Study Abroad program in 2012. Over the last two years, she has conducted fieldwork in California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Alaska, Quebec (Canada), and Baja California (Mexico), which supports her love of traveling. Double majored in environmental studies and biology.

Alyssa Dietz, ’12, ’16, Department of Psychology

Dr. Dietz is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at Penn State University – York, where she teaches psychology. Her professional experience includes stops at the Washington D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center and University of Maryland School of Medicine. Majored in clinical psychology (master’s) and psychology (doctorate).

Anna Eskamani, ’12, ’15, Department of Political Science 

Ms. Eskamani is an extremely active member of the UCF and Orlando communities. She serves as the Associate Director of UCF’s Nicholson School of Communication, Adjunct Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies at UCF and the Senior Policy Director of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida. In 2015, she was recognized by the Orlando Sentinel as one of Central Florida’s 100 most influential people in government, politics and culture. An Order of Pegasus recipient, she is working toward her fifth degree — all at UCF. Double majored in political sciences and interdisciplinary studies (bachelor’s) and double majored in public administration and nonprofit management (master’s). Currently pursuing doctoral degree in public administration.

Ida Eskamani, ’12, ’16, Department of Political Science

Ms. Eskamani serves as the State Youth Vote Director of For Our Future. She actively serves as a leader for various organizations in the Orlando community, including Organize Now!, Carlos Guillermo Smith for Florida, Equality Florida and more. She managed Equality Florida’s fundraising efforts and victim services helping to raise $7 million for the victims’ families and those who survived the shooting at Pulse nightclub. Majored in political science (bachelor’s) and public administration (master’s).

Timothy Evans, ’10, Department of Biology 

Dr. Evans is a second-year Orthopedic resident at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UCF, he went on to study Biophysiology at Georgetown and earned his Medical Degree from Creighton in 2015. Majored in biology.

Jennifer Johnstone, ’10, Nicholson School of Communication

Ms. Johnstone is the Associate Director of Biddable Media at Piston. Throughout her career, she has driven success for brands such as Moe’s Southwest Grill, Oakley, Ray-Ban, bareMinerals, Volcom and Skullcandy. She was this year’s female Search Marketer Of The Year at the Landy Awards, presented by Search Engine Land. She regularly serves as a panel judge at UCF for Jim Hobart’s Advertising Campaigns class. Majored in advertising/public relations.

Kimberlee Martin, ’09, Department of Political Science

Ms. Martin is an Assistant Public Defender at the Office of the Public Defender, 9th Judicial Circuit in Orlando. While she was a law student at FIU, she was the founding president of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, which advocated for protecting the lives and advancing the interests of animals through the legal system. Majored in political science.

Zerek Mayes, ’09, ’11, Department of Psychology

Mr. Mayes has dedicated his career to serving the schools in Orlando as a social worker. He maintains his relationship with UCF through partnering with the School of Social Work as a field supervisor and field instructor for UCF’s School of Social Work master’s level interns. He is in pursuit of his third degree from UCF as a current doctoral scholar in the National Urban Special Education Leadership Initiative. Majored in psychology (bachelor’s) and social work (master’s).

Ted Moskovitz, ’09, Department of Political Science

Mr. Moskovitz is and founding team member and the Executive Vice President of Apollo Scheduling. Apollo Scheduling was recognized as an Empact100 Honoree for being one of the Top Companies in America Run by Entrepreneurs Under 35 and invited to the White House and awards ceremony at the United Nations. Majored in political science.

Tiffany Schleeter, ’09, Department of Statistics 

Dr. Schleeter is currently a data scientist at Deloitte in Arlington, Virginia. She has achieved exceptional success in the STEM field and actively volunteers with Junior League. Majored in statistics.

Codeye Woody, ’15, Department of Political Science

Mr. Woody is Director of Legislative and Congressional Relations for Orange County Public Schools. He is also pursuing a master’s degree in public administration. He is a mentor to students in the community and also serves as a student member of the UCF Public Administration Advisory Board. majored in political science.
