Title: Academic Program Coordinator II

Department/School: COS Dean’s Office – Graduate Services Office

Start date at UCF: August 2005

Hometown: Orlando, FL

How would your friends and family describe you? I just called my 9-year-old niece and asked her how she would describe me. She said, “amazing!”

What do you enjoy about your job? My favorite part of my job is the feeling I get when I am helping staff/faculty/students work through a challenging situation, and I can feel the relief and gratitude that they are not working through it alone. It feels good to be helpful.

What do you enjoy about being a Knight? I have worked in the College of Sciences (in the Department of Sociology and now the Dean’s Office) for almost 18 years, and I have really built a sense of community with the people I work with; someone is always there to listen to your problems and offer words of encouragement.

Who inspires you at work? Our students really inspire me to always do my best and go that extra mile to make sure they succeed.

Thanks to staff members like Tonya, we can continue reaching our collective potential. Their hard work and dedication to UCF inspires us all to Charge On.
