UCF NSC Alumni Chapter Receives Industry Award for Alumni Event

The UCF Nicholson School of Communication (NSC) Alumni Chapter was recognized by the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Orlando-Area Chapter at its annual Image Awards banquet on Thursday, April 10 with an Award of Distinction for its UCF Nicholson School of Communication Alumni and Faculty Reunion that took place in early 2013.
The FPRA Orlando Area Chapter’s Image Awards banquet recognized outstanding public relations programs by presenting awards to organizations that implement comprehensive public relations strategies and tactics that meet the highest standards of excellence in four components of public relations programming: research, planning, implementation and evaluation.
In celebration of UCF’s 50th anniversary, the UCF Nicholson School of Communication Alumni Chapter hosted a reunion for faculty and alumni on Feb. 9, 2013, which served as a catalyst to rebuilding the chapter. The NSC Alumni Chapter nearly doubled its attendance goal, which led to securing a full volunteer board, additional alumni events and tripling its following on Facebook.
The NSC Alumni Chapter’s next event has been scheduled for Thursday, May 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Kasa Restaurant & Bar in Downtown Orlando. The event is a Communication and Hospitality Networking Knight in partnership with the UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management Alumni Chapter.
