UCF Professor Cited in Politico Magazine

Research by Visiting Assistant Professor Christopher Olds, Ph.D., was recently cited in an article in “Politico” magazine. Olds teaches in the University of Central Florida’s Department of Political Science. His research on political communication specializes on the effects of public remarks made by the American president.

The two research projects referenced in the article were published in 2014 and 2015. One paper examines the simplicity of presidential language and its effect on American public opinion between 1993 and 2011. The other one empirically evaluates how presidential rhetoric correlates to the amount of executive orders issued from the president’s administration using data from 1993 to 2015.

Olds is a visiting assistant professor in the department and has been teaching at UCF since fall of 2015.
