Christopher Spinale is Associate Director and Instructional Specialist at the Lou Frey Institute of Politics and Government within the School of Politics, Security, and International Affairs. His research and professional interests focus on political science education, civic education, and civic studies, with particular emphasis on preparing students to engage as active participants in democratic life and to think and act as citizen apprentices. Dr. Spinale brings extensive experience across K–12 and higher education, having served as a secondary classroom teacher, a school district curriculum supervisor, and an adjunct instructor in UCF’s College of Community Innovation and Education. His scholarship has been published in Social Education, The Journal of Social Studies Research, and The Journal of Social Studies Education. At UCF, he teaches American National Government.
