Biography

Jacqueline “Jax” Houser is a current MA graduate student specializing in Archaeology anthropology at the University of Central Florida. She received a B.A. in History with minors in Florida Studies and Archaeology from the University of Central Florida in 2023. She has previous research experience in Aerospace Archaeology and is currently working under the advisement of Dr. Emily Zavodny focusing on Zooarchaeology. Jax’s thesis research examines canine domestication in the North American Southeast.

Jax plans to complete her degree in the Spring of 2026. Upon graduation, she wants to continue her research in canine domestication and is contemplating pursuing a Ph.D.
