Bachelor of Arts Degree

The Anthropology major results in a broad understand of human and the human condition, both past and present.  Students are required to pursue a course of study that leads to training in all subfields of Anthropology.  The recognized subfields are: Archaeology, Cultural Anthropology, Physical Anthropology, and Linguistic Anthropology.  Focal areas for the department are:  Peoples and Cultures of the New World (both ancient and modern), Archaeology and Forensics, Cultural Competency, and Medical Anthropology.  Students majoring or minoring in Anthropology with sufficient course background may be provided an opportunity to participate in study abroad/field school programs.
