Research
My research focuses on the function and evolution of endosymbiotic organelles in land plants, and applications for plant biotechnology. I have a particular interest in the role of plastid (chloroplast) and mitochondrial genomes in shaping plant physiology. I use a variety of techniques, including genomics, transcriptomics, molecular evolution approaches, molecular cloning, chlorophyll fluorometry, and protein biochemistry.
