The College of Sciences hosted over 1,000 people at its second graduation reception on Saturday, May 3 for graduating students to celebrate their accomplishment with classmates, family and faculty. Event attendance tripled in size in comparison to the fall 2013 reception with a line that wrapped around the Psychology building’s sidewalk and went out onto Memory Mall.

In addition to returning regalia at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore by the CFE Arena, graduating students also had the option to return rental regalia at the college’s graduation reception, as an added convenience. Students also had a chance to take photos in their gowns with Knighto, who made a special appearance posing in and joking around with the new graduates and their families.

The college’s graduation reception is an opportunity to promote camaraderie between its 10 different academic units covering the social and natural sciences. Overall, the event overflowed with feelings of accomplishment, optimism and relief as students discussed their future plans and reflected on their time at UCF. If you’d like to view photos from the event and tag yourself or others, head to UCF’s College of Sciences’ Alumni Facebook’s album, COS Graduation Reception Spring 2014.

The College of Sciences faculty and staff would again like to congratulate all of its’ spring 2014 graduates on their momentous achievement. For students graduating in August, keep an eye out for your invite to our next reception. We look forward to celebrating you!
