Beloved Member of the UCF Family Celebrates Retirement
The spotlight is shining on someone who has been working behind the scenes at UCF for 26 years. The College of Sciences joins Rosemary Monroy, the associate director of resources and facilities for the college, in celebrating her retirement and thanks her for her years of dedication to the university. Monroy retired this spring semester celebrated her retirement at a reception held in her honor on Thursday, April 30, at 2 p.m. in CSB 201. Faculty and staff from across the university were in attendance.
Monroy came to the University of Central Florida, specifically the Political Science Department, in 1989. Two years later, she was hired and promote by the college when it was known as the College of Arts and Sciences. When the college split in 2007, she moved into the College of Sciences.
As the associate director of resources and facilities, Monroy has worked with faculty and staff, as well as with the facilities, safety and other service units to ensure that each renovation to the buildings she supervised was completed to meet others’ needs.
In recognition of her service to COS, Monroy was nominated for an A&P Gabor Excellence Award in 2014.
