The University of Central Florida community will join together Tuesday, June 14, to honor the lives taken during the act of terror at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

A candlelight vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Reflecting Pond.

The event is being organized by members of UCF’s LGBTQ+ community with support from UCF Social Justice and Advocacy.

Speakers — including UCF President John C. Hitt, SGA President Chris Clemente and members of UCF’s Pride community — will address Sunday morning’s tragedy and talk about its impact on UCF and the community. Additional speakers will highlight campus services available for students, faculty and staff.

The names of the shooting victims will be read as candlelight surrounds the Reflecting Pond.

Additional information about the event is available on its Facebook page. UCF also plans to Facebook Live the event from https://www.facebook.com/UCF/.

Free parking will be available in Garage A, accessible via University Boulevard.
