Biography
Ana Hidalgo is a communications specialist with over six years of experience in the private and nonprofit sectors, with a particular focus on conservation initiatives. She is skilled in storytelling, content creation, stakeholder engagement, and project management, bringing a strategic and impactful approach to her work. In her role at the College of Sciences, she supports visual and creative aspects to storytelling and communication for the College—including photography, video, graphic design, and social media.
Before joining the University of Central Florida (UCF), Ana led the communication strategy for the USAID-funded Targeting Natural Resource Corruption project at the World Wildlife Fund. In this role, she collaborated with conservation and anti-corruption experts on various communications to address the harmful impacts of corruption on wildlife, fisheries, and forests in country-based projects around the world. Ana played a key role in creating and disseminating resources, tools, and knowledge products that empowered conservation practitioners to tackle corruption and advance their objectives effectively.
Ana is also a member of the advisory board for the nonprofit Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge, where she oversees communication efforts that support the organization’s mission of rehabilitating and releasing Florida’s native wildlife while educating the public about the importance of conservation.
As a UCF alumna, Ana holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication and is passionate about building impactful communications that engage and inspire diverse audiences.
In her free time, Ana enjoys traveling, exploring nature with her camera, and discovering new restaurants.
