Biography

Since receiving his bachelor’s in forensic chemistry from UCF, Charles has gained experience working in the fields of forensic and environmental chemistry while also participating on multiple non-profit boards. Currently, Charles is the senior chemist at Kennedy Space Center’s (KSC) contractor-run chemical analysis laboratory. His lab is one of four operational quality departments that support KSC’s Space Port operations. As a NASA-supplied service, his laboratory supports all major space entities, both private and public, within the Space Act Agreement. His lab analyzes and certifies all commodities utilized for research, launch and life support, and propulsion use. Under his leadership, the laboratory has not only experienced a significant update on aging equipment but also the addition of new capabilities. Charles serves as the Immediate Past Chair of the UCF Alumni Association’s College of Sciences Alumni Chapter and was featured in the UCF 30 Under 30 Awards for 2021.
