Biography
Rishi is an attorney, arbitrator, and mediator, as well as an experienced hospitality professional. As an attorney, Rishi has extensive experience representing clients in a wide range of industries including residential and commercial construction, hospitality law, homeowners and condominium associations, and insurance defense. He regularly represents both local and national businesses in a variety of matters including complex, multi-party construction matters, land use and zoning issues, and state, federal, and administrative claims. He is also an arbitrator as well as a Florida Supreme Court-certified Circuit and County Court mediator. In addition to his legal practice, Rishi co-owns, operates, and serves as General Counsel to a family-owned hotel business which owns and operates a 149-room full-service hotel in the UCF area. Rishi previously served the people of the State of Florida as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County and has practiced with law firms in Orlando and Miami.
Rishi serves as a member of the 2024 Orange County Charter Review Commission. He is a past President of the South Asian Bar Association of North America and serves on the organization’s National Advisory Council. He is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for UCF’s College of Sciences and a member of the Steering Committee for the India Center at UCF, and previously served as Chair of the College of Science’s Alumni Board. He was selected as a College of Sciences Distinguished Alumni for the Political Sciences Department in 2018.
Rishi earned his BA in Political Science in 2003 from UCF. He also earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 2006 and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in 2010 in Law & Government from the Washington College of Law at American University in Washington, D.C.
