She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland and has taught various political science courses. Her professional background also includes roles in non-profit organizations, government, and academic administration. At the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, she contributed to developing data resources including the Area Health Resources Files, the Nursing Workforce dashboard and the Workforce Projections dashboard and provided research for the executive branch.
