The National Security team seeks to advance a strong progressive vision for U.S. foreign policy. The National Security team works on a wide array of issues, ranging from U.S. policy toward China to assessing U.S. progress in fighting the War on Terror. Interns learn many of the basic skills it takes to work as a policy professional at a progressive nonprofit from a front-row seat. Typical responsibilities for National Security interns include writing memos, columns, event summaries, and reports; carrying out web-based research on issue areas; compiling data; updating documents on topics of current pertinence; and assisting in preparation for events and large meetings.
