ICCAE Study Abroad Scholarship

The IC CAE’s main goal is to prepare students—by enhancing the critical skills and knowledge deemed essential by the Intelligence Community—for careers in national security and intelligence. In these fields, an international perspective is crucial for dealing with the variety of issues & challenges that often arise. For this reason, the IC CAE provides funding for study abroad programs for students who have the goal of working in intelligence and security fields. Scholarships will be available for most semesters.
This competitive scholarship awards up to $4,000 for undergraduate students and graduate research, with a priority for those who have a financial need. This scholarship is interdisciplinary and is open to many courses of study, as long as the course work reflects material that would be beneficial to a future in intelligence and national security. Many skills and areas of expertise are in critical need right now in the national security and intelligence communities. These areas include, but are not limited to:
- Critical Languages (Russian, Chinese, Arabic, etc.)
- Political Science
- Criminal Justice
- Computer Science
- Engineering
- Business Administration
- Communication

Undergraduate Application Requirements

The IC CAE undergraduate scholarship is open to many different fields and courses of study, but the student’s course work should reflect material that will enhance his or her knowledge and skills in areas that are beneficial to a career in intelligence and national security. Scholarship awards are expected to be up to $4,000 and will be awarded competitively to undergraduate students who are interested in these areas. | |

Be a current degree-seeking undergraduate student at UCF, Seminole State, or Daytona State | A personal statement of no more than 200 words explaining how your study abroad program will enhance your career goals in intelligence and national security |
Complete the UCF Study Abroad Office's Student Travel Registry (if a UCF student) | A resume or CV |
Show that they are engaging in course work that is relevant to a future career in intelligence or national security | A letter of recommendation from UCF or state college faculty |
Be a U.S. citizen | |
Longer programs preferred, but not required. |

The IC CAE graduate scholarships are intended for students to conduct field work pertaining to their M.A. thesis or PhD. dissertation. Under some circumstances the funds may be used for other research projects, such as papers for a conference or a journal article submission. Research must be related to topics of interest to intelligence and national security, broadly construed. Scholarships are awarded for amounts of up to $4,000 and will be awarded competitively. | |
