Biography

Dr. Nickerson is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Statistics & Data Science at UCF.  He received a B.S. in Mathematics from UCF and a M.Stat. and Ph.D. from the Department of Statistics at UF.  Before joining UCF in 1990 he was an Assistant Research Scientist at UF and an Assistant/Associate Professor at the University of Georgia.  He has over 32 years experience as a teacher and researcher in applied and theoretical statistics and has numerous refereed papers in both mainstream statistics journals and in journals related to biology and medicine.  He was the Biostatistician on an NINR grant studying intervention programs in middle school children, and a Co-I/Co-PI on grants from NIAMS/NIH and DOD studying gene therapy for arthritis.

Dr. Nickerson retired from UCF in 2020.
