Biography
Griffon Binkowski is a current M.A. graduate student specializing in biological anthropology at the University of Central Florida. He received a B.A. in anthropology from the University of Central Florida in 2024. Griffon is working under the advisement of Dr. Lana Williams, focusing on trace element analysis and biological archaeology. His thesis research focuses on the use of handheld X-ray fluorescence spectrometry as a nondestructive method of trace element analysis for use on dental enamel to compare trace element trends between ancestral populations in Belize and Egypt.
In 2026, Griffon was inducted into the Order of the Pegasus for outstanding performance in community leadership, research, outreach, and academics at UCF. He has been a graduate teaching assistant since 2025 and has participated in fieldwork at Cape Canaveral, Florida, and Dayr al-Barsha, Egypt. He will complete his degree in the summer of 2026, after which he will pursue a PhD in anthropology with a focus on community archaeology.
