ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The anthropology major results in a broad understanding of humans and the human condition, both past and present. Students in the program study all subdisciplines of anthropology: archaeology, cultural anthropology, linguistic anthropology, biological anthropology and public and applied anthropology.
The recognized subdisciplines are:

- Cultural Anthropology
- Biological Anthropology
- Linguistic Anthropology
- Public & Applied Anthropology
Focal areas for the department are:
- Peoples and Cultures of the Americas (both ancient and modern)
- Archaeology
- Forensics and Human Osteology
- Cultural Competency
- Medical Anthropology
Students majoring or minoring in anthropology with sufficient course background may be provided an opportunity to participate in study abroad/field school programs.
Choose your preferred format
Traditional Program Fully OnlineStudents in the traditional campus degree program choose between the General track and the Anthropological Methods & Practice track. Students in the fully-online program follow the General track.
