Nicholson Alumnae Mean Business
Eight UCF alumnae are among the Central Florida honorees of Orlando Business Journal’s (OBJ) 2016 list of Women Who Mean Business. Four out of those eight alumnae are Nicholson School of Communication (NSC) graduates. The 26 honorees listed on the 18th annual OBJ Women Who Mean Business list will be recognized on Friday, April 29, at a luncheon at the Hilton Orlando.
Nicholson graduate Salli Setta ’87, was named one of the magazine’s business executives of the year. She earned a BA in communication at UCF in 1987 and an MBA at Florida Institute of Technology in 1991. Salli is currently the president of Darden’s Red Lobster restaurant.
Listed as OBJ’s Women to Watch were six UCF graduates, three of which are NSC alumnae.
Jessica Korthuis ’11, works as the strategic marketing manager at BIGEYE Advertising Agency. She earned a BS in interpersonal organizational communication and a BA in studio arts, both in 2011.
Anya Andrews ’01, ’06, is an associate professor in the College of Medicine and director of research initiatives. She earned a master’s in communication in 2001 and a doctorate in instructional technology in 2006.
Sasha Hausman ’08, earned her BA in radio/television and is now the development officer at Second Harvest Food Bank.
More UCF alumnae honored on the Orlando Business Journal’s 2016 list of Women Who Mean Business:
- Denise Swanson ’98, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer of Space Florida, earned a BS in accounting in 1998. She was also named one of the magazine’s business executives of the year.
- Marsha Robbins ’02, ’06, owner of Dramatic Education Inc., earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theater in 2002 and a master’s in elementary education in 2006.
- Bridget Keefe ’09, ’11, executive director of the Downtown Orlando Partnership, earned a BA in event management in 2009 and a master’s in public administration in 2011. She also worked in the UCF Foundation and Alumni Association.
- Jennifer Johnson ’03, is director of engagement in the College of Business Administration and director of The Exchange, a lecture series for students featuring leaders from the university, community and industry. She earned a BS in marketing from UCF in 2003.
