Biography
Carlos Borges is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Central Florida. Previously, he was a Peter O’Donnel Jr. Postdoctoral Fellow at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, at the University of Texas-Austin, and before that, he was a Courant Instructor in the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute on February 2013. Dr. Borges’ primary research interests include Inverse Scattering Problems, Numerical Analysis, Domain Decomposition, Fast Direct Solvers, and Neural Networks.
