Biography

Second year PHD Student in Race and Ethnicity.

I am completed my undergraduate work at the University of Kansas in American Studies and Film and Media Studies. After completing my undergraduate work, I moved on to gain my MA from Hope International University in Christian Studies. After working in the education and ministry fields, I returned to school to work towards my PHD in sociology. My current research interests are in race and ethnicity and popular culture, with a focus on authenticity in nerd spaces amongst Black Comic book nerds, or “Blerds”. In my spare time, I watch movies, read comics, and drink an excess of coffee.
