Biography

Dr. Jacquelyn Reiss is the Associate Director of the Institute for Social and Behavioral Science and a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology. She earned her Doctorate in Sociology from the University of Central Florida in 2023. Dr. Reiss is an applied sociologist with over five years of experience conducting mixed-methods social science research. She specializes in utilizing qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial mixed-methods research to design and conduct program evaluations and study social issues and social policy with a focus on social and structural determinants of health, maternal and child health, and power and inequalities. Her work is published in the Journal of Applied Disciplines, Journal of Human Behavior in the Social Environment, and Environmental Justice.
