BS and MS in Physics from the University of São Paulo in Brazil. Ph.D. in Physics from MIT. Postdoc fellow at NORDITA in Copenhagen, Denmark. Assistant and Associate Professor of Physics at PUC-Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Visiting faculty at Duke University. Associate and Full Professor of Physics at UCF, where he was department chair from 2016 to 2021. Fellow of the American Physical Society.

Quantum information science; quantum many-body physics, electronic transport; more recently, cryptography.
