Career Goal

My goal is to pursue a career in law. I hope to serve underrepresented communities and individuals and help bring awareness to their diverse and unique experiences.

Why I Love My Major

I love sociology because the work of those within the discipline has given underrepresented communities the tools to describe their experiences and the courage to question them. Sociology broaches social phenomena from a global and intersectional perspective that drives the human and social implications of its findings into the foreground. Through this, sociology helps to pave the pathway to change.

Career Goal

My goal is to pursue a career in higher education where I can teach sociology full-time and design a curriculum representative of a global epistemology. I also want to work with Indigenous communities to conduct research that will help bring awareness and potentially inform policies about the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women’s crisis.

Why I Love My Major

I love sociology because it allows me to critically analyze social inequalities from multiple perspectives. The knowledge I have gained from sociology empowers me to research issues among understudied populations, which can produce new scholarship that can impact change.
